ABOUT
The Black Aesthetic is a creative triad that aims to amplify and protect Black creativity.
We aspire to be a retail space that offers home goods created by
Black makers and co-conspirators whose works amplify the beauty of Black culture.
As an event/incubator space we will offer small group instruction to the community and support for creatives.
In the meantime and as we work toward opening our doors, we partner with various brands to offer experiential events/pop-ups that allow attendees to immerse themselves in all the things we think are dope about the culture.
HOW IT WILL WORK

RETAIL
Our retail space highlights home decor items, art, gifts and unique finds, with particular emphasis on Black designers and majority Black-owned companies. We seek to highlight items that embody and celebrate Black American culture.

Are you an artist, home decor or accent designer who would like your product featured in our space? Send us your info to be considered for our vendor list.

EVENTS
As an event space, TBA produces programming that gives Black creators and business owners an opportunity to reach the community through hands-on instruction that provides entertainment and education. TBA’s intimate events such as candle-making, sip and paint, tea tastings, soap-making aim to strengthen the connection between consumer, product and creator. TBA also offers space for creative collaboration and industry events.

INCUBATOR
The Black Aesthetic is also home to #CreateTheCulture, a business ignition program for African-Americans in creative industries. Based on the idea that Black creatives are significant influences of pop culture, TBA’s #CreateTheCulture incubator will aim to support the startup of Black creative businesses and consultancies that serve various industries. Additionally, it seeks to bridge the gap between Black creative professionals and local High Point, NC, furniture design and manufacturing companies looking to diversify their employee/partnership landscape.
